Dan is a Vietnam veteran serving from 1967-1970. He started his career in Ft. Lewis for Basic, AIT and LPC training before moving on to Ft. Benning for OCS and Tactical Infantry Officer School. Dan later moved on to Ft. Bragg to attend the Special Warfare School and Language School before heading off to Vietnam as a 1st Lt. Infantry Officer.
Dan came home in 1970 and enrolled at SF State to obtain his teaching credentials and later his admin credentials. He became a school Principal for 27 years in Modesto, CA.
Dan was married for 43 years before his wife passed in 2016. Together they had 2 children. Dan was a season ticket holder with the 49ers for 9 years. He does volunteer work for a number of city and county organizations. He loves going to SF and revisiting some of the restaurants where he and his wife frequented. Occasionally, his children will tag along with him, even though they can drive themselves now.
